Week 2 of my holiday in Malta started with travelling into St Julians to meet with some of my Malta associates.

There is still a lot of construction taking place here which adds to the already bad traffic situation. However, once you have parked, walk along the promenade that stretches from St. Julian’s all the way to Sliema, Gzira, Ta’ Xbiex and Msida, and enjoy breathtaking views of the sea

This week I have spent time on the beaches of Golden Bay and Paradise Bay. There are no waves in Malta so perfect to teach your children to swim or play ball games in the water.

Can you believe that Barry Hilton, South Africas very own comedian, was here for 1 night. I bought my ticket and joined about 200 people ( mostly South Africans) at the AX The Palace Hotel in Sliema  to hear some comedy. He did not disappoint.

Eating out again this week dished up some superb food. First I ate at Mithna, in Mellieha. Now a restaurant but originally an old windmill, a historical gem, that was built in the 1700’s to provide the community with one of the islands most important ingredients…..flour.

The other , Star of India in Xemxija, overlooks the St Pauls Bay and all the boats. Wonderful to arrive just before dark and see the changing colours of the bay as the surrounding lights start to reflect in the water.

All in all Malta delivered another fine week.
